The short lists for the British Archaeological Awards was issued today. Of particular interest to us was the Best Archaeological Discovery (why); in the order as sent out by the organisers they are:

The South West Maritime Archaeological Group will host a presentation evening at the Flavel Complex in Dartmouth(location) on Saturday 30th of October 2010. The presentation will show how the group came together,and the discoveries they made in the last 20 years. The second part of the presentation will feature their work up to the present day. It will be an evening of adventure, treasure, history, and archaeology. It is proposed that the doors will be open at 1900 for 1930 and will end at 2200 hrs.
